Review of Great Neck, New York

You can not beat the quality of the public schools
Star Rating - 6/21/2022
I basically grew up in Great Neck from ages 7 through 23. My thoughts are as follows. Yes you should be concerned about the quality of the water. My family spent plenty of money to get the water filtered and it was not always enough, my hair would get really dry unless we used a filter in the shower as well. The school systems are really one of a kind and hard to beat. I got to take advantage of many after school clubs including literature clubs, music, theatre plus helped me get one of my first jobs after school. For what our taxes covered, we benefited 40 times as far as the public schools. Without a doubt, this is a big reason why I studied and worked professionally in education.

Great Neck culture sort of revolves around shopping culture, it is not for everyone. I remembered people either loved the one bakery or they would run from it. Great Neck is located in an amazing location in NY. I could get to several nearby towns in under 25 minutes. Great Neck always feels like it is big but not too big because I always knew the same 30 really good people through my temple network. If I could go back in time and figure out how not to be kind of blue there, I would have realized that with the ample shade and global warming or whatever, it is not really possible to get as much Vitamin D as you need. The rainy days definitely got to me and this somehow was rough. I think for many people on Long Island there ought to be a warning to up your D3 intake for various reasons.
